Hi! Thanks for coming to visit!

My name is Katie. I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). I have been working in health education for almost a decade now.

I haven’t always taken care of my health, at least not the way I take care of it now. I payed my own way through school, working multiple jobs as a result.

Working two jobs and going to school full-time increased my stress and provided me with an erratic eating schedule. When I did eat, I didn’t always make the best food choices and sometimes I wouldn’t eat at all.

During times of stress, food was my comfort. And typically, large portions of food. I didn’t know when I would have the time to eat again so I would eat large portions to “hold me over” or would sometimes skip meals entirely (insert eye-rolling at myself).

I started to gain weight and felt depressed. My diet was heavy in carbohydrates and fats, and as a result, my blood sugar increased and my health declined.

When I discovered exercise as a way to cope with stress I took off running. Literally! And through the years I found my second love = crossfit.

However, I pushed myself too hard and didn’t see the gains in the gym that I was working so hard for. Why? Because I wasn’t paying attention to what my body needed. Balanced meals, rest and recovery time.

Correcting hormones, eating healthy and finding the right amount of exercise is a balancing act and everyone is very different. We can’t all follow the same eating patterns, but you should know what you’re putting into your body and how it’s making you feel.

 Everything that goes in your mouth is either feeding your health or feeding disease.

I focus on using a natural approach to wellness and finding the “root cause” rather than relying on doctors’ advice to start taking medications.

My Mission is to address the root cause of your health issues and restore your health and vitality. Through education and emotional support you will receive the tools and direction to live the life you love.
